Lafayette Area Fall USTA Flex LeagueSignup begins online August 18th at www.ustaflexleagues.com for the Lafayette area Fall USTA Flex Leagues and ends September 15th.The league starts September 22nd and runs until December 1st. Chanda Rubin awarded Eugene L. Scott Renaissance AwardAt the 82nd National Public Parks Tennis Championships held in New Orleans, LA from July 21-27 Ken McAllister, President National Public Parks Tennis Association, presented Chanda Rubin, former top 10 WTA Tour player from Lafayette, LA, with the Eugene L. Scott Renaissance Award. "In my 50 years as a player, coach, and professional, I have seen very few great athletes like Chanda who also represent the best in role models for our younger players. She is very deserving of the prestige of the Eugene L. Scott Renaissance Award." -Ken McAllisterThe Eugene L. Scott Renaissance Award is presented by the National Public Parks Tennis Association and the USTA in honor of Gene Scott, who demonstrated supporting the ideals of public parks tennis. Scott was also inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2008. The Eugene L. Scott Renaissance Award was presented to Polly Scott in 2006 in his memory and to Chris Evert in 2007.
