Chanda Rubin awarded Eugene L. Scott Renaissance Award

At the 82nd National Public Parks Tennis Championships held in New Orleans, LA from July 21-27 Ken McAllister, President National Public Parks Tennis Association, presented Chanda Rubin, former top 10 WTA Tour player from Lafayette, LA, with the Eugene L. Scott Renaissance Award. "In my 50 years as a player, coach, and professional, I have seen very few great athletes like Chanda who also represent the best in role models for our younger players. She is very deserving of the prestige of the Eugene L. Scott Renaissance Award." -Ken McAllister

The Eugene L. Scott Renaissance Award is presented by the National Public Parks Tennis Association and the USTA in honor of Gene Scott, who demonstrated supporting the ideals of public parks tennis. Scott was also inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame in 2008. The Eugene L. Scott Renaissance Award was presented to Polly Scott in 2006 in his memory and to Chris Evert in 2007.
