Provisional Umpire Workshop Scheduled

A USTA Provisional Umpire Workshop has been scheduled for Saturday, May 10th, at 10am at the ULL Varsity Tennis Coaches offices at the ULL Tennis complex.
The Acadiana CTA is looking for umpires for the upcoming Louisiana Junior Qualifying Tournament beginning May 31st and for other tournaments throughout the year.
Participants who attended last year will need to recertify again unless you have worked events since then and have turned in your data cards.
USTA Louisiana Chief Official Aimee Johnson will conduct this workshop which should last 3-4 hours.

Volunteers Needed !!

Volunteers are needed for two different programs:

LA Junior Qualifying Tournament May 31 - June 7
Volunteers needed to work the tournament desks at the different sites
Also, USTA officials are needed - training is available to anyone interested

Lafayette Coca-Cola Free Tennis Clinic for kids. June 9-12.
Volunteers needed to help the instructors on the court with the kids.
This free summer clinic serves between 80-100 participants each year. It depends heavily on community volunteers for its success.
Please come out if you can offer just one morning 9:00-10:30.

Mixed Doubles Leagues

Team registration if open until May 5th. (must have 3 men and 3 women with combined ratings that will allow three courts of play to be fielded)

Deadline to add players is July 31st

Labor Day weekend in Mandeville/Covington


Adult Team Tennis, Lafayette

April 19-May 24; Saturdays 10:00-11:30 A.M. Thomas Park For adults who may have completed Funs, Friends and Fitness, or who would like to play matches, but are not quite ready for league play. 6 weeks of match play with instruction on strategy & scoring. Flex Singles League - Court Jesters

Men's and Women's Flex Schedule Singles will begin Session 5 July 1st, 2008.
Registration is now taking place.
League fee is $20.00 which includes end of session Tournament with trophies/prizes.
Session runs for 20 weeks, end of session tournament runs 6 weeks.
Members are composed of competitive and semi-competitive tennis players (open to men and women) with
USTA Rankings of 2.0, 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5 & 5.0 ages of 18 and up.

USTA Flex Leagues for Spring

Signup is underway for the spring session of USTA Flex Leagues.
Categories will include Men's 3.0 - 4.5 singles and Women's 2.5 - 4.0 singles.
This is a great opportunity to play when and where it's convenient and to meet new players.
Go to www.ustaflexleagues.com and click on 'register now' in the upper left menu area.
The deadline to sign up for this league is March 17th.
We ask you to support this league in that proceeds go to the Acadiana CTA to help grow tennis in the community.
